Home Types

There are many different types and floorplans for homes in the US. Here is a little guide to each of the most popular ones.

Single Family Homes are generally homes that a single family can live in, hence the name. The styles and floorplans are as varied as your imagination can dream of. They can be compact dwellings to luxurious homes with numerous rooms and bathrooms, pools and the like. Some will be on their own plot and other will be a part of a home owners association community.

Villas are normally single story homes which can be detached on their own plot, attached to others or part of a gated community. Generally two or three bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen and a living area plus a garage or two depending on the size. Many will have their own pool or spa.

Estate Homes aren’t for the average buyer but deserve a mention nonetheless. These are the multimillion dollar homes you see behind their own walls and gardens. These will be palatial residences with multiple reception rooms and bedrooms. Not for us mere mortals!

Condominiums, or condos are generally apartments with up to three bedrooms and a bathroom or two, depending on the price point. They can be low rise with up to two floors, mid rise up to seven floors, high rise from eight floors and upwards. These will generally have parking spots rather than driveways and garages.

Verandas are similar to low rise condos, with up to three bedrooms. They differ because they will have a garage. They also often come with a screened lanai to add to the floor space.

There are of many other types of property available in Naples, and all over the US, but these are by far the most numerous. I hope this helps!
